It had been forever since I had visited a village fair. Thankfully, my exams got over quickly and this time I could visit the fair in my maternal uncle's place. Our whole family started the journey a day before in order to reach the village, which was a good 700 kms from our home. Once we reached there, it was already night, and we slept at our uncle's home. By the time I got up, I could hear children playing, shopkeepers shouting on top of their voices, the different rides and giant wheels squeaking and also smell the different delicacies. The whole village was in a festive mood! Me and my sister first went on a ride that spinned us round and round. It was an exciting start. Later, we sat on many other rides which were both enjoyable and terrifying. Finally, we went on the giant wheel and could see the whole village from the top.
After the rides, we did a little shopping. My sister and mother bought bangles for themselves, while I bought a toy set. We also bought roasted peanuts to eat as we made our way through the fair. At the end, our father treated us all with delicious jalebis. We also bought a toy for our neighbours who had a newborn baby. Before leaving, we all took a family picture which reflects the happiness of the four of us.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to be back here next year!
