Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was a great social reformer. He was born in Birsingha village at the Paschim Midnapore district in Bengal province on 26 September 1820. He was from a very orthodox family. He started his education carrier with the local school of west Bengal.
In 1841 he passed Sanskrit with disguised marks. As a part-time job, he joined the part fort Williams College and teaches Sanskrit. He was married to Dinamani Devi. The main focus of Vidyasagar is the status of women in society.
