The nervous tissue which contains densely packed nerve cells called neurons ( GREEK WORD :- NEURO = NERVE ) , is present in brain , spinal cord and sense organ. the neurons r specialized for conduction of nerve impulse . they receive stimuli from within or outside the body and conduct impulse which travel one neuron to another.

• Nervous tissue consists of brain, spinal cord and nerves.

• The cells of this tissue are called nerve cells or neurons.

Parts Of Neurons :

1. Dendrites : It acquires the information
2. Cell body : The information acquired by it travels as an electrical impulse.
3. Axon : It is the longest fiber of the cell body.
