Hello Mate!.

Tense is a set of forms taken by a verb to indicate the time (and sometimes also the continuance or completeness) of the action in relation to the time of the utterance.

There are basically 3 types of Tense.

  1. Present tense
  2. Past tense

. 3.Future tense

Present tense a tense expressing an action that is currently going on or habitually performed, or a state that currently or generally exists

There are 4 types of Present tense

  • Simple present
  • Present Continuous
  • Present Perfect

. .Present Perfect Continuous

The simple present is a verb tense with two main uses. We use the simple present tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly (or unceasingly, which is why it's sometimes called present indefinite.

For example-I read a book

She likes to eat chicolates.

Present Continuous is used when an action is going on.

For example-I am writing a letter.

She is looking beautiful.

Present Perfect examples Some other forms of this tense are: Has lived: She has lived here all her life. Have written: They have written three letters already. Have worked: I have worked here since I graduated school..

The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the present perfect progressive tense) shows that something started in the past and is continuing at the present time. The present perfect continuous is formed using the construction has/have been + the present participle (root + -ing).

Example-She has been writing this letter for 1 hour.

Past tense is a tense expressing an action that has happened or a state that already existed.I was sleeping.

Simple past tense-She wrote a letter.

Past Continuous-She was cooking food.

Past Perfect -She had cooked the food.

Past Perfect continuous-I had been sleeping for 2 hours.

Future tense is a tense expressing an action that has not yet happened or a state that does not yet exist.

Simple future tense-I will eat the food

Future Continuous-I will be writing this letter.

Future Perfect-I will have gone to Portland,USA.

Future perfect continuous-She will have been going to Portland,USA.
