The 6 days include the greeting of Great Goddess Durga till giving a farewell to her on Vijayadasami. Goddess Durga comes with some form of transportation (Boat, Horse, etc.) every year. Durga Puja celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahisasuran. This symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Durga Puja is considered as the one of the biggest festivals that brings people of all communities together in Northern India.

Durga Puja is festival celebrated by Hindus. the ideal of Maa Durga is worshipped in this ceremony. mainly this Puja is celebrated by Bengalis. it is also known as Navratra. according to Hindu religion Maa Durga had nine avatars therfore this ceremony last for 9 days. despite these nine days Vande is also celebrated as Vijay Dashmi. people take fasts. Prasad are distributed among the people. the ideal of Durga Mata is visarjit on Vijay dashmi in the water resources. according to Hindu Man Durga Had killed Mahishasur on that day. Mahishasur was Demon who was destroying the whole Earth, killing peoples including gods messangers. there are people pray to God for help. as result Durga Mata was formed.
