My first day at school is. one of the most memorable events in my life, It was Thursday 5 January 1999. With many unknown fears, I accompanied my mother to school. As she left me, I realized that I was in an unfamiliar world. Then one senior student guided me to my classroom. But my heart sank I noticed tears trickling down the cheeks of most of the girls. However, our class teacher’s kind and friendly words comforted us. Soon I joined the assembly. The principal delivered a short speech welcoming us. Then we were back in the classroom. Then our class teacher told us about various things. After some time the first bell went. Then new teachers came in each of the following periods. They were very friendly too. After the Tiffin period, we received our English teacher. She told us a number of stories. To me, her class was the most entertaining. At last the final bell went. Then I accompanied my mother back home. The sweet memories of the day will remain alive in my heart until the last day of my life.

It was my first day at school. I had a new bag, water bottle, new books, shoes and socks and also a Dora shaped tiffin box. I was happy about going to school with all these new things, but what I felt sad about was that I had to make new friends too. I wouldn’t mind if I had old friends. So, I ran to the prayer room before leaving the house to ask God to find a friend for me that day itself. I felt that my first day of school would be very boring- sitting all alone only copying the notes and looking at the others talking and laughing with their friends. I reached my classroom. All were looking at me since I was new. Thank God! the teacher came fast, since all were shouting. We had to introduce ourselves. After I introduced myself and sat in my place I suddenly heard a small voice from my back. Somebody said, “Excuse me” and I turned around. To my surprise it was a beautiful girl. “Yes” I said, and then she asked me if I could be her friend? I was so happy that I couldn’t stop myself from saying yes. A friend on the first day of school itself!!After reaching home I ran to the prayer room knelt down and thanked God because before going to school I had asked God to find a friend for me that day itself. Her name is Beth. She is seven years old and her birthday is on 13th May, the same as mine. We are good friends now and from then on we do many activities together. We are and always will be best friends forever.

Dad’s Birthday- By Abhirami Harish
A story for small children – The story is about two puppies planning a birthday party for their dad.
One fine morning, Bob the dog woke up from bed. He was cheerful. He did his morning routines and ate breakfast. In the evening, when he was playing in his tab, he was really surprised. It was his dad’s birthday and he had forgotten! He had to think of something to give him! He took his little sister, who is good in keeping secrets. He put the plan in four parts: gift, cake, a card, and decoration. “First, the gift.” Bob said. “Well, it has to be memorable.”, his sister Poppy said.
“That just gave me an idea! Let’s make an album of all the memories we have with him!” Bob shouted excitedly. “Wow Bob, you are so smart!” Poppy praised. “Now the cake.” Bob said with a sigh. “What is the problem Bob?” said Poppy, looking concerned. “The problem is that dad went to work, so he took the car. So, we cannot go out to buy a cake. Even if the car was here, we cannot go as dad would know we are going to buy a cake and mum does not know how to drive.” Bob said sadly. “Mum can bake a cake, Bob!” Poppy exclaimed happily.
