Her heart was pounding because it was the eve of 4th June and when she wakes up the next morning, her result will be out. "Ria, you are a brilliant student and our school has great expectations from you", her teacher Mr Gupta had said in the beginning of the session. No doubt, Ria had started rearing a dream in her to top the district in class XII exam this year coming up to the expectations of her teacher who used to say "hard work never goes waste". Tomorrow was 'The World Environment Day' and the world was to express its worries on ecological disturbances. She also used to participate in these programmes but this year she was much worried about the disturbance of her mental ecosystem with lots of apprehensions about her result. Ria was a self-conscious girl who was over-obsessed with apprehensions that everyone was always talking of her. Its reason, probably, was that her teachers were very attentive towards her with the possible reputation of the school in their mind. Though she has tried her best to give a wide berth to such apprehensions but she was helpless when her classmates used to talk about her quite often. Some of them never failed to cut a joke on her that she got off her study table just to be fresh or that even an owl took a longer sleep than her. With all these things moving about in her mind, she was unaware when she fell asleep.
