A visit to a foreign country is indeed filled with surprises, more so before the trip is actually made. If the country is in Europe, it would mean thinking of all the places of historical interest, as it would trigger imagining oneself being in Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, or visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris or even going to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If it is a visit to U.S.A., one would begin imagining of the Statue of Liberty, Niagara Falls or the Disney World. 
I had the privilege of going to Nepal and Bangladesh, two countries in South Asia, with whom our country shares borders. Before the visits, there was very little excitement in the family, as we felt everything that we would be seeing would be similar, or worse, to what we get to see here. But, we were pleasantly surprised to see a few unique things that captured our imagination. In Nepal, we visited the Narayanhity Palace Museum, the residence of the disbanded Monarchy, the wonderful Pashupatinath Temple and the sunrise in the hills of Pokhara. In Bangladesh, it was quite interesting to visit the majestic mosque, Baitul Mukarram, and experience the river transport system, the network of which is unique to that country like the Railways is to India.
