Answer:

"Why do I love" You, Sir?

Because—

The Wind does not require the Grass

To answer—Wherefore when He pass

She cannot keep Her place.

Because He knows—and

Do not You—

And We know not—

Enough for Us

The Wisdom it be so—

The Lightning—never asked an Eye

Wherefore it shut—when He was by—

Because He knows it cannot speak—

And reasons not contained—

—Of Talk—

There be—preferred by Daintier Folk—

The Sunrise—Sire—compelleth Me—

Because He's Sunrise—and I see—

Therefore—Then—

I love Thee

This is a poem by Emily Dickinson.

The poem is written in such a way, that it seems like the poetess is in search of a reason for her falling in love with a guy,she has been admiring for quite some time. She tries to find the reason by comparing nature to her situation.

She compares herself to grass and her beloved to the wind, and further explains that she cannot keep still while he passes by.

Though they haven't expressed their love to each other through words,he knows that she loves him and the poetess is content with that.

Again, the poetess quotes an example from nature, saying that the lightning never waits for any pair of eyes to be shut, nor it asks their permission, because the lightning knows the helplessness of the eyes which cannot speak but they understand each other. While speech is preferred by daintier people, these both prefer to stay silent.

She sees him as the sunrise of her world, and thus she concludes,it is because of these reasons she has fallen for him.

I like the poem particularly because it has a subtle way of expressing love ,but the effect seems to be enormous. The impact it creates and the analogies taken to explain the reasons seem to be far more effective, that it creates a thought that even if she had directly expressed her feelings it may not have had the exact result.

On second thought, the poem actually is self explanatory as on why I like it, considering the guy as the poem itself.
