Let us divide the passage into 2 parts before lock down time and after lock down time.

Before Lock down : People were able to move freely and do whatever they wanted without restrictions of any kind. People could go to jobs to earn. All public places were available like theatres, pubs, bars, restaurants, etc. Transport was available.

After Lock down: People are not able to move freely. They are going out only to buy essential resources like food ingredients, etc. We are restricted to our home mostly. Most of the people lost their jobs or are not able to earn as some of the companies are closed down. Public places are banned. Transport has been restricted.
