                                        Why are the Owls up at night?

Just before I go to bed,

Right after I am fully fed,

Mummy, tell me why and how

Owls don't sleep and stay up now?

Mummy shuts her eyes and thinks,

A moment later, quickly blinks!

Then she says out, "Oh my dear!

So that the robbers can't come near!

Owls survey the place around,

Spots a tree to not be found!

As they settle on a branch,

Insects see them and they blanch!

Thus their nightly duty starts,

And their big gold eyes will dart!

Then at dawn, they'll go and fly

To rest and sleep in a tree up high!"
