By election​ :

  • Elections is held only one constituencies to fill vacancy caused by death or resignation of a member. Is called as By election​.
  • Election is held before the expiry of of 6 months from the date the seat falls vacant.
  • The representative elected in By election​ is elected for the remaining period of the house not for five years.
