9y = -2x + 8
y = -(2/9)x + 8/9

When y = 0,Ā
0 = -(2/9)x + 8/9
-(8/9) = -(2/9)x
x = 4

Answer = (4,0)

The given linear equation is
2x + 9y = 8
or, -9y = -2x + 8
or, y = (2/9)x + (-8/9)
We know that when a straight line cuts x-axis then in that point y-coordinate = 0
So, 0 = (2/9)x + (-8/9)
or, (2/9)x = 8/9
or, x = 4
So, the straight line 2x+9y = 8 cuts the x-axis at (4,0) point.
