Two types of plastic:- Thermosets and thermoplastics.

• Thermoset is a type of plastic that cannot be recycled. During heating, a kind of chemical change takes place in them.

• Thermoplastics are the recyclable type. They undergo a temporary chemical change when heated.

Merits of plastic:-

• Many plastics hold long lifespans which promote reuse.
• Plastic production processes are compared to many other elements.
• Plastic takes up less space in landfills.

Disadvantages of plastic:-

• Plastics are usually made from non-renewable resources.
• Plastic is the main source of pollution found in the world's oceans.
