Given,

Number 16, that is part of a Pythagorean triplet.

To Find,

The other members of the Pythagorean triplet.

Solution,

We know that the constituent members of a Pythagorean triplet for a number m > 1, where m is a natural number, the other members are:

→ 2m

m^2-1

m^2+1

Here, we can take 2m as 16. Therefore, m = 16/2 = 8.

Therefore,

m^{2} - 1 = 8^{2} - 1= 63

m^{2} +1=8^{2} +1 = 65

So the Pythagorean triplet is 16,63 and 65.

Pythagorean Triplet

A Pythagorean triplet consists of 3 positive integers a, b and c that can be written in the form a^{2} +b^{2} = c^{2} that is in the same form as as the Pythagoras theorem. The numbers of a Pythagorean triplet can be substituted to form a right angled triangle.
