if a and b are roots a quadratic equation then

the quadratic equation is

x^2 - (a+b)X +ab

so

a+b=5/2+8/3=31/6

ab=5/2 * 8/3 =40/6

then the equation is x^2-(31/6)X+(40/6)

6x^2-31x+40=0

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

5/2 + 8/3 = 15/6 + 16/6 = 31/6.

5/2 × 8/3 = 20/3

the sought quadratic equation is therefore x^2 - 31x/6 + 20/3 = 0 or equivalently

6x^2 - 31x + 40 = 0.
