Question :-

Write a Quadratic equation whose roots are 3 and 4 .

Answer :-

→ x² - 7x + 12 = 0

To find :-

→ Quadratic equation

Used formula :-

x²-(sum of roots )x+ product of roots= 0

Explanation :-

Given roots are 3 and 4 .

→ sum of roots = 3+4 = 7

and ,

→ product of roots = 3×4 = 12

hence , required Quadratic equation is

→ x² -(7)x +12 = 0

Check result :-

For checking result find the roots of it

→ x² - 7x +12 = 0

→ x² - 4x - 3x +12= 0

→ x(x - 4) -3 ( x - 4) = 0

→ (x - 4)(x -3)= 0

• Case (1) I

→ x - 4 = 0

→ x = 4

• Case (2) if

→ x - 3 = 0

→ x = 3

roots are 3 and 4 .

hence verified.
