When carbonate reacts with acid , it forms corresponding salt, CO2 & H2O. Sodium carbonate ( Metal carbonate) reacts with hydrochloric acid, it forms sodium chloride salt , carbon dioxide & water. ... Sulphuric acid + Zinc Carbonate => Zinc Sulphate + Carbon dioxide + Water
