PUNE: Seven students from Pune district won prizes for excelling in various subjects in the secondary school certificate (SSC, std X) board examinations conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of secondary and higher secondary education. Among the three districts covered under Pune division including Pune, solapur and Ahmednagar, students from Pune bagged highest awards. The marksheets of the online results decalred on June 8 were distributed on Friday

The awards are instituted from donations given by individuals to the state board to award subject toppers. As many as 34 prizes were declared by the Pune division. When asked how prize-winners are selected, since many students receive 100% marks in these subjects, senior board officials said that student scoring the highest aggregate marks in SSC are selected if scores in a particular subject are the same.

Student of St Vincent's Highschool, Chirag Siroya scored full 100 marks in science to bag the P P Matoshree M Kaladevi award.
