Tiger - An Endangered Species

It is a matter of grave concern that tigers in our country are slowly nearing to extinction. Massive poaching in the past two years has wiped out the entire tiger population at one of the tigers reserves in India. If we look at their falling number, we find that their number fell by 1827 in 1972, 3015 in 1979, 4005 in 1984, 4384 in 1989. 3750 in 1993, 3500 in 1994 and 3508 in 1997. If this continues they will soon be extinct.

Tigers and other wild animals constitute the ecological balance of nature. This ecological balance ensures the sustaining of human life and race. Increasing urbanisation and vanishing forests have caused the killing of many wild animals. Man's craze for fashion items from the hides of these animals is also responsible for the decreasing population of wild animals. Then the energy-giving aspects of tigers' bones etc, are also behind their poaching. Tigers live in the Himalayan range. They are poached and the parts of their bodies are smuggled secretly to China etc, where they fetch huge prices.

It is really very sad that man's greed is increasing for things made from the tigers' orts The govt. should take immediate steps to contain the poaching of tigers in the country, It should make anti-poaching laws more strict. It should also open more Tiger Reserves.

Tiger are a very endangered species. Every year about 3,000 tigers die just because of poachers and loss of food. A long long time ago there were over 100,000,000 tigers and now the population has dropped down to only 3,500. This drop in numbers is caused by many different things, mainly because of poachers. Loss of food is also a problem but poachers is the #1   reason most of the tigers in the world die. Many sites I've seen have donation links so you can donate to the cause. Getting back on topic, some tigers such as the Bali Tiger, and the Caspian Tiger  as said above. Tigers are underestimated in how much they help the environment.  As a large predator, the tiger plays a key role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. This is why tigers re a very important part to the environment. People don't notice or care that tigers are one of the most important animal species. Tigers such as the saber-tooth tiger were hunted down long ago by our ancestors. Just because they attacked us to protect their territory and family. Humans are the cause of tigers being extinct and going extinct. We should care more because they are important to the ecosystem and if we keep on killing them the environment will no longer be controlled. Tigers are part of the reason that we have a controlled animal kingdom, along with lions and other big predators. Tigers are one of the most endangered species. So many tigers are extinct and  little are left in the world. Why do tigers attack humans if we are no harm to them? You may ask this Question and ill tell you this, some humans are harmful. You might already know this but the harmful humans are poachers they kill tigers just for their skins and other resources . I would rather spend a day in the wild with a tiger near by rather than kill one. One day we are going to need tigers and they wont be around to control the population of wild animals and we will have to fend for ourselves and half of the entire population will be gone in a week. Don't get scared because this is just a theory that I came up  with(Well if your young you might get scared). Tigers may be viscous creatures but to them we are the vicious ones. If you look at all the merchandise that are from tigers there is more products that use tiger parts than things that use any other endangered species. We ignore the fact that all species are important but tigers are a big part in the environment. We are making other animals seem like they are more important than tigers. You might say " Humans do think that tigers are important though " but if humans really did care than why isn't the  history channel putting any thing about tigers for their documentary.
