Independence Day celebration
This year XYZ school, New Delhi celebrated independence day with great pomp and show. All the teachers and students gathered on the prayer ground. First of all the national flag was hoisted by the principal of our school.
After flag hoisting ceremony the principal read out the message sent by the Director of Education. He also did you got an impressive and powerful speech. He encouraged us to become great like Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. A number of students sang songs full of Patriotism. Some students also performed dance. Our English teacher Mr Akash throw some light on the struggle for the freedom of India.
The function came to an end with our National Anthem after that sweets were distributed among the students. All were happy and gay on this pious occasion. In my opinion 15 August is very important to us because this day remind us of the sacrifices of those who gave up their lives for the freedom of India.
