Two militants were apprehended by the army in a joint operation with the state police in Baramulla district’s Pattan on Thursday.
In a statement, the army said Shaukat Ahmed Ganai (26) and Parvez Ah Mir (34), both from Andargam area, were detained. Two AK- 47 rifles and two grenade launchers were also recovered apart from Army and police uniforms during the operation.
“Based on a specific information about the movement of suspected terrorists near Wusunkhui, Pattan, a joint team of Army and Police launched the operation in which two terrorists were intercepted early in the morning today,” the army said, adding that the recovery of uniforms “exposes the nefarious designs” of the terror outfits looking to create panic in the guise of security forces.
