Answer:

Mahatma Gandhi deserves our respect and honour. His immense contribution to the freedom struggle of India by means of non-violence and peace is legendary. This year is a special occasion for us as we keep his 150th birth anniversary. Celebrations across the country are grand and memorable.

In our school, our celebrations were held across all sections. The students of Stds 7 and 8 celebrated this special occasion by creating a collage on Gandhiji on art sheets. Every collage had pictures of the Father of our nation along with his famous quotes .The students created their respective collage of fond memories of Gandhiji through knowledge acquired from books all through their years of study. The students mounted their respective art sheets on the class display boards so that the entire class could appreciate the creativity of every child and learn from each other. The students were guided and instructed by the Art teachers for this activity. The class display boards with their respective collage work were judged by the AHM Mrs. Christina Mascarenhas. Std 7B and Std 8A were judged the best in their respective standards.

The English Literary Club of the school also conducted an activity where every child was encouraged to pen down his love for the Father of our Nation through poems and articles. The students who were blessed with literary skills wrote down poems on Mahatma Gandhiji to showcase their literary skill. The originality and content of the works by these students were commendable.

On this day, a special effort was made to make students and the public aware on the adverse effects of tobacco and the law of tobacco control. Our uniformed troops-Scouts, NCC, RSP-joined the campaign.

Together we march in the footsteps of Gandhiji to create a prosperous and peaceful nation!
