B.D.D.K .H.S,Bishnupur ,15th August ,2021:Our school organised a campaign on 'Educate the Girl Child' on 14th August on the occasion of Kanyashree Divas . The school conducted a rally that marched through the neighbouring locality with posters and placards. All the students, teachers and non-teaching staff participated in the rally to create awareness about the importance of women education in our society. The programme included cultural competition, seminar and staging a one-act play highlighting the issue. A large number of students took part in poster-making, slogan-writing, quiz-contest and debate. A seminar on the importance of educating the girl children was held in the school auditorium. Eminent educationists, women rights activists, guardians and teachers attended the seminar. Then a one-act play written by our Bengali teacher, Swathi on the theme of gender bias in our society was successfully staged by the students and the teachers. The cultural programme included recitations and songs by the students. Our Headmaster delivered a short but nice speech in which he pointed out the important role Rammohan, Vidyasagar, Vivekananda, Rabindranath and others had played in spreading women education in our country. The BDO dwelt upon the importance of government projects like 'Kanyashree' and 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padho' in promoting education among women. Other speakers also laid emphasis on women education and empowerment. The Campaign was a grand success as it helped spread the message that educating a child means
