Deforestation is the act of clearing our earth of its forests on a massive scale, resulting in habitat loss and damage to the land’s quality. 30% of the Earth is covered forest, but chunks as big as 46-58 thousand square miles of forest land is lost each year.

Our world has many beautiful rain forests that provide useful resources but is predicted that in 100 years the world will lose all rain forests to deforestation. Many people are clearing forest land for many reasons, most of those reasons are for money or to provide shelter for families. The real drive for deforestation is money.

The majority of farmers cut down forests on their property for more room to plant crops, build storage or hold animals. most likely farmers with a small lands would cut down the trees for the biggest room possible to plant crops.

Our paper products and wood come from an operation called logging. Logging means the activity or business of felling trees and cutting and preparing the timber according to google. Countless trees are being cut down every year. Many loggers are acting illegally and are building roads to access the remote forests easily, leading to more deforestation.

Deforestation is causing many negative effects to the environment.The most common effect caused by deforestation is habitat loss. Millions of animals lose their homes each year to deforestation. 70% of the animals and plants living on land live in forests. Many cannot survive, due to habitat loss caused by deforestation.

Us as humans need to find more workable solutions to insure that generations to come people will live lives knowing what a real tree looks like. Many people are trying to make the earth better by new tree plantation but the total is still no where equal to the amount being chopped down each year.
