Report of Upgrading of Facilities in the Library

A meeting to discuss the upgradation of the facilities in the school library was held in the Chairman’s office on September 21, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. The Chairman, the Principal, the coordinators, and the librarian attended the meeting. Keeping in mind the growing strength of the students in the school, the importance the school library plays in the academics and overall development of the personality of the students, and the need to provide the best, modern facilities the following decisions were taken:

1. A budget of rupees 10 lakh was approved by the Chairman for the upgradation.

2. Purchase of new books worth 4 lakhs, including academic and non-academic was finalized.

3. Installation of new furniture, books racks, cabinets, ergonomic study tables and chairs was approved of.

4. The librarian requested a librarian assistant. The Principal seconded her request. The Chairman approved of employing a library assistant with immediate effect.

5. The proposal of creating an e-library in the school was mooted by the coordinator. He suggested creating an e-library would save the trouble of maintaining so many books. He showed a power point presentation to all the members attending the meeting. The Chairman liked the idea of the e-library, but did not take any decision concerning the e-library.

6. November 14 was kept as upgradation completion deadline.

All the members attending the meeting agreed to the upgradation plans.
