A hilarious fire broke out and engulfed the Kolkata’s 141-year-old New Market, also popularly called  Hogg Market.

It is located in central Kolkata near Maidan.

A fire had spread widely in the in old fish and vegetable market section and the shop owners complained that the fire engines reached after quite a long hour after the fire broke out.

However, about 20 engines and police reached the spot as the fire spread out from all sides.

The area was covered with black and thick smoke No reports of casualty were came out till afternoon.

Kolkata Mayor reached the spot to control the situation.
