we often use plastic bags to store cooked foods items . sometimes these bags may not be suitable for keeping food .you must have noticed that people often fill garbage in plastic bags and then throw them when stray animal look for food in these bags they end up swallowing these bags sometimes they die due to this. the plastic bags thrown carelessly on roads may block the drains and the sewer system. they does not allow water to penetrate into the ground.on burning they release harmful gases. they are non biodegradable.
