ROAD SAFETY WEEK.
A road safety week is conducted in order to create awareness among the public regarding traffic rules and to reduce casualties of road accidents. Due to lack of awareness, many lose their lives and leads to pain and sufferings. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. Similarly, it was celebrated this year from 4th February till 10th February 2018. The theme of the road safety week was "Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha."
In this campaign, there were various events and was inaugurated by the minister of road transport Sri Nitin Gadkari. The Delhi police worked deliberately to spread awareness among the public. Also, many NGO's and school children participated in numerous activities. Further various painting and drawing competition were held on the theme of the campaign. Additionally, quizzes and traffic safety games are held to promote safety. There are innumerable activities which are enjoyed and equally comprehended by the public.
Road Safety Week is celebrated year by year in order to create awareness among the people due to accidents created by rash driving. The private sectors and volunteers along with government join their hands to create awareness. Mainly the awareness programs are held at schools, colleges and Roadside for the safety of road as well as the safety of the drivers. At first, while driving two-wheeler or four wheelers we should follow the road safety rules, wear a helmet for our safety etc., By following the safety rules we can minimize the number of accidents and save many human lives.
