"Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life". To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school prefectorial board was formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection.
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2016-17 was held on the 12th of May 2016. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Ainsley Edgar - Principal Advisor at the GEMS group of Schools.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by its translation and the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Ainsley Edgar, Principal - Mr. Richard Monteiro, Vice principal- Mr. Chandrashekhar, Head of Primary and Middle School- Mrs. Clara Martin and KG. Supervisor - Mrs. Nelida.
A welcome dance was performed by the girls of grade 5-8 which held everyone captive to their performance.
The Principal Mr. Richard Monteiro inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in his address to the gathering.
The Choir had a melodious and inspiring song which perfectly suited the event. The song told the students how to overcome their challenges and never give up whatever the situation may be.
The march by all the prefects was a spectacular event which set the mood for the event.
In his address, the Chief Guest Mr. Ainsley Edgar appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in activities like these. He also congratulated the newly appointed school prefectorial board for their preparedness to take responsibilities. He asked them to use these opportunities and balance them well with academics to excel in both. He wished well to all the members of the prefectorial board. He commended the school for having thought of an Innovation to do away with the posts of the Head Boy and Head Girl to provide an equal opportunity to all the students in administration and decision making. He also welcomed the idea of having Posts like the Happiness Prefect, U.A.E Ambassador, Innovation Prefect, Student Mentors, Academic Support and many more innovative posts.
The outgoing head boy and head girl shared their experiences and gratitude to the teachers and management in their speech.
The Oath taking ceremony was led by Sreelakshmi Pratheepkumar of Grade 8.
The Vice Principal wished the student leaders in completing responsibilities entrusted to them in the year ahead. He also mentioned the efforts taken by the School in promoting children's democratic and social skills and offered his support in the future. His words of advice were highly motivating to the students.
