Taxes on Peasantary and trade as well as tribute of local kings was used in warfares, building forts, paying soldiers etc.

A king was dependent on his soldiers for protection and the soldiers were dependent on the taxes for income which was given by the people of the kingdoms.

Therefore, TAX COLLECTION WAS THE MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME IN A KING'S KINGDOM/ EMPIRE
