Answer:
I was the school headboy in 10th standard. It was a great experience indeed. Being school headboy I was always particular about being disciplined ,keeping shoes polished, completing assignments etc and being that perfect student teachers wished for ! :) .
The onus was on me to conduct daily school assembly , check if shoes are polished , tie, nails etc. Basically you get to enforce all the “disciplinary rules” of the school. But it ain't easy being a headboy/ headgirl because you should always be up-to-date , perform well in studies, cocurricular activities and display your ability to lead the lot.
Being unbiased was challenging (haha) as sometimes my close friends used to create nuisance and break rules , but somehow I managed it well.
Some perks of being headboy are you will be well recognised in school, teachers become close, sometimes rules will be relaxed etc etc .I learnt a lot of life lessons ,soft skills, organisational skills, and above all handling disputes and coming to a amicable decision in group activities.
I even got to interact with many chief guests during functions and gatherings personally while other students couldn't. This was a great value addition as I learnt a lot of things from those confabulations.
It was a great opportunity to identify and tap the latent leadership qualities in me. It made me more disciplined and widened the horizon of thinking.
I am eternally thankful to the school principal for nominating me and all the students for electing me as the headboy.
