Keeping pace with the ongoing tree plantation drive all across the country, a tree plantation programme was held in our village last week. The Deputy Commissioner of the district along with a team of 20 workers planted 10000 trees throughout our village. All the important members of the village panchayat also contributed to the tree plantation drive. The village schoolchildren along with the teachers had been invited. Their cooperation was also sought in planting the trees. Addressing the students on the occasion, The D.C. appealed to the students and the villagers to ensure the sapling's nurturing. He appealed to the students to adopt trees for the 100% survival and healthy growth of each sapling into full-fledged tree. The media were present to cover the event.
