Chandigarh, November 13: Addressing the students of Class 3 who were leaving for a picnic, the headmaster Dr. A.J. Singh spoke to the students about making the best of the day.
The picnic was scheduled as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. Leisure Valley in Sector 10 was chosen as the venue of the picnic, a place that people of all ages find appealing, especially children. The students played games like tag and dodge ball and also enjoyed running down the jogging track.
A sumptuous lunch was served in pre-packed boxes, which they ate sitting on the benches placed under the trees. The learners were encouraged to interact with other visitors to the place and sensitise them to the issues of littering in public places. The responsibility of putting all the lunch boxes into the dustbins was also taken by the young pupils themselves.
Besides watching butterflies and admiring flowers, the picnic offered the teachers and students to interact in an informal environment, much to the pleasure of both. As the children were being handed over to their parents, many were heard asking the staff about the next picnic.
