We celebrated World Water Day on the 22nd March with a special programme held in our main hall. This programme was presided by the HSBC ‘Catch the Drop Water Programme’ and by an EcoSchool Teacher Coordinator.
After a short welcoming address from the Headmaster, Mr Raymond D’Amato, our Geography teacher, Mr Neville Galea Pirotta, delivered a presentation about the importance of water in our daily life. The programme than proceeded with the presentation of a number of slides prepared by the Headmaster himself featuring the new drip irrigation system restored with funds provided by HSBC ‘Catch the Drop Water Programme’.
The programme came to an end in the garden itself, when the guests, our EkoSkola Committee Members and the Prefects and Sub-prefects went on site to see the works. Here a photo was taken in front of a plaque that commemorates this project and event. The Headmaster then thanked all those present, especially Mr Glenn Bugeja, the Manager of HSBC Bank, Corporate Sustainability Department who led the HSBC delegation.
