1. It is a popular culture among the youngsters of the present generation to spend their maximum time on social media sites.

2. Addiction to social media has been a topic of increasing importance. Teenagers and young adults are more involved in the virtual world than they are in the reality. Social sites are known for setting unrealistic life standards and they inculcate a sense of comparison among teenagers.

3. Social media have been into existence with both advantages and disadvantages. Apart from connecting the entire world, they have been a major source of distraction.

4. These sites are also used as recreational methods but the time spent on them is beyond controlled. This addiction can be overcome only through self-control and effective time management. Adopting hobbies like reading books, planting and gardening, cooking, journaling, and others can help individuals to spend their time more productively.
