Santosh Yadav was born on 10th of October in the year 1967 in District in Haryana.
Inspite of her rural background and prevalent social taboo banning education of girls in rural set up she was able to continue her schooling.
Graduated from Maharani College Jaipur with Economic (Honours) in the year 1987 and also got her NCC 'C' Certificate that year.
During studying in prestigious Maharani College at Jaipur she found way to the Himalayas through Aravali Mountains.
1986 she did her Basic Mountaineering Course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in Uttarkashi with 'A' Grading and saw snow for first time in her life.
In that year she did Advance Mountaineering Course from that Institute with 'A' Grading.
Santosh Yadav is an Indian mountaineer. She is the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest twice, and the first woman to successfully climb Mt. Everest from Kangshung Face. She climbed the peak first in May 1992 and then again in May 1993.
