At an age before starting school, I was taught to ride the bicycle by my older sister. We had two bicycles on the farm, a 26 inch coaster brake bike and a 24 inch girls bike. I could stand on the peddles of the girls bike and hold the handlebars. My sister ran along with the bike and then let go. The first time I ended up jumping off as the bike fell over. My sister advised me to not hold the handlebars so tight and we tried it again. The second time was the charm and I was able to keep the bike upright.
