Indian urban markets are replete with hoards of vegetable vendors. Though the country is vast with diverse geographical conditions, a good transportation system to all the major towns and cities helps timely delivery of fresh foods even from far flung places. The trucks usually arrive early in the morning and vendors do brisk business till noon.

There are different types vegetable vendors in urban areas:

a) Some vendors have their permanent shops that they do business from.

b) Sometimes you see a wagon on which vegetables are sold in market areas or go door to door.

c) In some cities, small vendors with baskets on their head filled with vegetables and fruits going from door to door. This is very convenient for busy householders who cannot go to the market.

d) Some vendors sell cut vegetables and fruits for the conveniece of the consumer. You see such vendors more in big cities than in small towns.
