Favourite character from a book

Recently I have read a Sherlock Holmes' story book. Since then, my favourite fictional character from a story book is undoubtedly the Sherlock Holmes himself. His charming personality, the great detective skills, the marvelous observation power and wonderful deduction skills, made me a die hard fan. I have already covered most of the stories of my favourite fictional character. Whenever I read his stories, I feel like I am with him in his adventures and crime solving journeys. I have read many types of books with different types characters but the character of Sherlock Holmes will stay in my heart as my favourite fictional character forever.

• The book that I recently read is R.K.Narayan's 'Malgudi Days.' It is a collection of short stories.

• My favorite character is the father Venkat Rao from the story 'Forty-Five A Month.'

• He was worried for his daughter Shanta; As he works all days of the week, he didn't have time to take her out.

• Venkat Rao is a loving and caring father who works hard for his family for forty rupees a month.

• One day, he wanted to take his daughter to the Cinema. So he decided to take permission from his boss.

• If his boss refuses, he decided to resign from his job. But fortunately or unfortunately his salary was raised to forty-five a month on that day.

• He felt happy for his hike but felt sad that he could not take his daughter out hereafter, as he needs to work a lot.

• The story conveys the longingness of a daughter and a hardworking father who wants his family to be happy.
