Answer:
We all are familiar with the famous thought by Charles Dickens- “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
The thought by Mandy Hale- “there is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.”
The most famous icon of helping the poor is none other than Mother Teresa, who also said that- “Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and Love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
The one who lends a hand to help the poor are sure to be helped back during hard times they may face in their life. Give freely to the world these gifts of love and compassion. Do not concern yourself with how much you receive in return, just know in your heart it will be returned. Helping the ones in need is a complete internal satisfaction, there’s nothing like helping people.
The one thing that matters to me is the smile which spreads over the face of the person you have just helped. Helping others brings good feelings to the giver and the receiver of the good deeds. There is a Chinese saying that goes: “if you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity. Let’s read this story to understand the meaning of helping others better: We had a project in our school to do a live working model based on the living structure of the poor and how we could help them. I along with my friends decided to work together on the project. We all were very excited about the concept of helping the poor. We decided to understand the living structure and how to help the poor. We had to visit their household. One of the friend told us that there is a slum behind his society, which is in a devastated condition. We all decided to go there on a Sunday. After going there and studying the household of the people, we all were saddened to see their condition.
No house in that area was properly made, the roofs were thatched, walls were patched. A friend suggested that we donate them the things which we do not use at all. The next day, we all set off towards the slum along with all the things - clothes, old books (to help them learn), stationary, food, some money (for each household), old cycles, bags, brushes, large bottles of water and juice (two each for every household), toilet paper, old cell phones, first-aid items, creams etc. We also took along with them the tools to repair the huts. After we reached there, we paused for a second looking at all the children running towards us happily. We quickly entered the slum and started donating the things. We waited for a while for the people to settle down and started repairing the patches of each house, we painted the walls with brighter colors, fixed the thatched roofs and attached curtains to the entrance of the houses. The poor people could not thank us better than with the emotional smiles which spread over their face while we stood there watching them. Today, I have understood that 'helping others is a better alternative' 'be a helper, give a shelter.'
