India got freedom on 15th August , 1947, on the stroke of midnight. It is celebrated every year.

This day has a great significance for Indians. The freedom fighters of our country sacrificed their lives to gain independence. Some of them are Mahatma Gandhi , Bhagat Singh , Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose etc.

They all will always be in our hearts for their sacrifices.

At Red Fort , there is a grand parade , after singing the National Anthem. The prime minister hoists the national flag. This day has a great impact on us.
