The abilities of women in making decisions, education, and profession have been largely suppressed since ages, considering them inferior to men. The situation is worst in underdeveloped and developing nations where women in a family are not allowed to take financial decisions or decide on matters regarding their own education.
With such state of affairs, it would be a fallacy to dream about the goals of sustainable development and gender equality. There is an instant need to take measures to lift the social, personal and professional status of women, bringing them shoulder to shoulder with men. These particular measures constitute a process, which is known as “Women Empowerment”. Providing better education and employment opportunities to women, ensuring their better health, providing justice and ensuring professional equivalence, are the few methods of women empowerment.

nowadays womens safety is the need of hour. Especially in India women are not safe . Womens suffer crime such as female foeticide, infanticide etc. In 2012 it has recorded that every women gets raped and die in 1 hour. It is very bad to notice that some people or i can say most of the people in India are criminal minded and are always ready to hurt our country's innocent womens. But there is a fact that where there is gold there is sand/dust also. If we people make sure that women , daughter, sister, mother etc are safe then no one can hurt womens. Though government had made many laws for womens empowernment we can still notice that womens are treated very badly in some areas. We need to spread awareness about womens empowernment and encourage everyone for the safety of womens. Thus lets take pledge to safe our country's womens and make them feel proud to be indian were womens are respected and treated well. !!
