ERYTHROCYTES
- Erythrocytes are also known as red blood cells.
- They are the most abundant blood cells in the blood.
- It is red in colour due to the presence of haemoglobin.
- It is formed in the bone marrow.
- It is devoid of nucleus in mammals including humans.
- It transports respiratory gases.
- They have a lifespan of about 120 days.
LEUCOCYTES
- Leucocytes are also known as white blood cells .
- They are colourless due to absence of haemoglobin.
- They are nucleated cells.
- There are two main types of WBCs they are :- granulocytes and agranulocytes.
- WBCs also provide immunity to the body.
