Class - Amphibia

• Amphibian are organisms that can live both in water and land.

• Most of the members are tetrapod (four - limbed) except Icthyophis.

• Body is differentiable into two parts the head and trunk.

• They have moist skin and is devoid of scales.

• Ear is represented by a tympanum.

• Alimentary canal , urinary bladder and reproductive tract open into an common chamber called cloaca.

• Amphibians can respire through skin , lungs and even gills in some organisms.

• They are cold - blooded animals and  posses a three chambered heart.

• They are oviparous organisms.

• The development is indirect.

• Examples of amphibians includes :- Toad , Salamander , Frog ,etc.
