Tidal energy is the energy harnessed by the Rise and fall of sea level on daily basis when Tides come in to the sure they can be trapped in reserve was behind dams built along the Shore line
The tide flow is allowed to pass through turbines when electricity is generated
Tidal energy can also be used to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels to some extent tidal energy generation and consumption is environment friendly as it creates no solid liquid or gas pollutant

Hello mate,

Here is your answer,

Tidal power or tidal energy is a form of hydropower that converts the energy obtained from tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity.

These large underwater turbines are placed in areas with high tidal movements, and are designed to capture the kinetic motion of the ebbing and surging of ocean tides in order to produce electricity.

Although not yet widely used, tidal energy has potential for future electricity generation.
