Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in a Bangla family in Kolkata’s Addasanko Thakurbari. His father’s name was Devendranath Tagore and his mother’s name was Sharda Devi. Rabindranath Tagore was married to Mrinalini Devi in 1883. Tagore had written his first poem in a mere eight years.Rabindranath Tagore was also known as Gurudev.
