Vikramorvashiyam is the second of the three plays written by Kalidasa.

According to one theory, "Vikrama" in the title alludes to Kalidasa's patron king Vikramaditya; however, there is no evidence for this. It simply means "Valour".The play contains a well-known “mad scene” (Act IV) in which the king, grief-stricken, wanders through a lovely forest apostrophizing various flowers and trees as though they were his love.
