In December 1530, Humayun succeeded his father to the throne of Delhi as ruler of the Mughal territories in the Indian subcontinent. Humayun was an inexperienced ruler when he came to power, at the age of 22. His half-brother Kamran Mirza inherited Kabul and Kandahar, the northernmost parts of their father's empire.

He ascended the throne in 1530 AD.

The ambitions of his brother Mirza Kamran weakened

Humayun’s cause against Afghan competitors.

He was defeated by ‘Shah Suri” at Chausa in 1539 AD

and at Kanauj in 1540 AD which forced him to flee to

Iran.

He received the help from Safavid Shah to capture Delhi

again in 1555 AD. He died in 1556 AD in an accident.
