The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is is the leading environment authority in the United Nations system. UNEP uses its expertise to strengthen environmental standards and practices while helping implement environmental obligations at the country, regional and global levels.

HOW UNEP IS FORMED?

The United Nations Environmental Program(UNEP) was founded in June 1972 as as a result of the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment. The UNEP is the coordinating body for for the United Nation's environmental activities.

WHERE IT IS LOCATED?

UNEP was established by General Assembly Resolution 2997. Headquarters were established in Nairobi, Kenya, with a stuff of 300, including 100 professionals in variety of fields and with a five-year fund of more than US$100 million.
